Learn more about our veteran family program and caregiver support

The transition from service member to civilian is not easy. Thankfully, many of our warriors have people like you—parents, siblings, caregivers and more who go above and beyond to help them. So we’re helping you in return. By providing guidance on VA benefits, and a variety of other programs, we empower you with the tools you need to be there for your warriors. Alumni Connection Program

Veterans who register and join Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) are called Alumni. Whether you’re a warrior, family member, or caregiver, support for veterans starts with the WWP Alumni Connection Program. When you register as a veteran or family member, you’ll find help through free programs, services, and events that make healing possible. A supportive community can give you the strength to keep taking steps toward living a rewarding civilian life. Here, you’ll find that community. Connect, peer to peer. Go to a baseball game with someone who’s been where you are. Attend family events. Meet other caregivers. Get outside. Volunteer in your community. Feel what it’s like to find connection, camaraderie, and community again. We know that everyone is starting from a different place, so we offer something for everyone. What are you looking for right now? Start where you are, and together we’ll go from there.

Independence Program

If you are living with a moderate to severe brain injury, spinal cord injury, or neurological condition that causes you to struggle with day-to-day living, Wounded Warrior Project WWP can provide the kind of high-touch services that will help you live life to the fullest and as independently as possible. This one-of-a-kind program focuses on helping you set achievable goals, get more active in your community, and embrace the future on your terms. Whether you live with family, on your own, or in an assisted care facility, we’re dedicated to providing the support and resources that will empower you to lead a more fulfilling life. Independence Program starts with a comprehensive service assessment, during which your team of specialists will work with you, your family, and your caregivers to develop a plan of action. From there, you will work with your dedicated team of specialists who are highly trained in helping injured veterans set and achieve goals. Caregivers of severely injured warriors also benefit from the Independence Program, which provides innovative and ongoing support services to help them in their new, sometimes overwhelming roles.
