Elizabeth Dole Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project, and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Launch Web Series for Military Caregivers

“Caregiver Community Connection (C3)” addresses urgent needs with new resources and support amid COVID-19

Washington, D.C. (April 30, 2020) – Elizabeth Dole Foundation is proud to announce the launch of Caregiver Community Connection (C3), a new web-based series designed to empower, equip, and engage America’s military and veteran caregivers. Powered by Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP), C3 will address urgent needs identified in a recent Elizabeth Dole Foundation survey, which include educational and social support in the military and veteran caregiver community amid the COVID-19 crisis.

C3 will highlight community resources available to military caregivers over the days and weeks to come. Topics will include (but are not limited to): mental health and well-being, practicing self-care at home, activities to do with your families, financial wellness, physical health, nutrition, and others. New episodes will be available every week. The Elizabeth Dole Foundation is proud to partner with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) on this new series. The C3 series builds on the existing EDF-VA partnership, aimed at strengthening support and resources for our nation’s military and veteran caregivers. The VA Caregiver Support Program office will be leading partnership efforts on behalf of the VA and will support the Elizabeth Dole Foundation and Wounded Warrior Project in selecting topics and linking VA subject matter experts to serve as guests on upcoming episodes.

“We’re honored to team up with our partners at WWP and the VA to provide a much-needed resource to the military caregiver community,” said Steve Schwab, CEO of the Elizabeth Dole Foundation. “In the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, we will continue to shift our programmatic efforts to meet the rapidly evolving needs of military families.”

“Military caregivers are selfless servants, always caring for the needs of our nation’s heroes,” said WWP CEO Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Mike Linnington. “The impact on caregivers is often never fully grasped or recognized. That’s why we’re proud to support the Elizabeth Dole Foundation’s C3 series, which will provide resources and insights for those who care for America’s most deserving veterans.”
