RESOURCE

Our Military Kids, Inc.

Our Military Kids provides grants for children to participate in the extracurricular activity of their choosing while their parent is recovering from a post 9/11, combat related wound, illness, or injury.

Eligible children can receive up to five (5) $300 grants worth a total of $1,500 during their parent’s treatment for post-9/11, combat-related wounds, illnesses, or injuries.

Every April, the Our Military Kids® Courageous Kids Contest honors military children and teens from across the country.

Family, friends, coaches, teachers, and other community members are encouraged to nominate a child or teen (ages 1-18) who has gone above and beyond to serve as a role model for their peers and/or a leader in their community, at school, within their family, and/or in extracurricular activities while also braving life with a military parent on deployment or in treatment for combat-related injuries, illnesses, or wounds.

Up to 13 Courageous Kids Contest winners will be selected representing each branch of U.S. military service, plus a Hidden Helper Hero — a special additional category highlighting a child or teen who has been impacted by caregiving duties for a wounded, ill, or injured military parent.
