Common Medical Center Services
VHA Medical Centers provide a wide range of services including traditional hospital-based services such as surgery, critical care, mental health, orthopedics, pharmacy, radiology and physical therapy.
In addition, most medical centers offer additional medical and surgical specialty services including audiology & speech pathology, dermatology, dental, geriatrics, neurology, oncology, podiatry, prosthetics, urology, and vision care. Some medical centers also offer advanced services such as organ transplants and plastic surgery.
Care Coordination and Integrated Case Management (CCICM) is a practice framework which provides high quality care coordination through assignment of a Lead Coordinator to Veterans with moderate to complex care coordination needs.
A Lead Coordinator collaborates with the Veteran/Caregiver and care team members to enhance the Veteran’s overall health and well-being. The CCICM framework provides the level of care coordination required to empower and equip Veterans to manage their medical and/or mental health conditions.
